OpenAI (OPAI.PVT), the frontier lab behind ChatGPT, announced a series of policy commitments on Thursday, including a ban on nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) with local government officials, in an effort to improve community relations and share the economic gains of AI.

Following a blue wave that put Democrats in control of the next Congress and demonstrated Americans’ discontent with the AI buildout, OpenAI is rolling out new commitments governing how it develops data centers.

Speaking at the Wall Street Journal’s WSJ Tech conference in Napa on Wednesday, Meta’s President and Vice Chair Dina Powell McCormick said that after the crushing defeat of numerous Republican legislators, governors, and other elected officials, it’s “going to be harder” to build data centers, according to the Journal.
