Stifel Financial has hired Chris Morrison, Matt Scott and Arianne Perry as managing directors as the financial services firm expands its Venture Banking and Venture Capital Coverage operations across New York and Boston.
All three executives previously held senior positions at Silicon Valley Bank and will focus on serving venture-backed technology companies, founders and investors.
Morrison joins as Managing Director focused on Venture Banking in Boston.
Scott becomes Managing Director focused on Venture Banking in New York City, while Perry joins as Managing Director of Venture Capital Coverage with responsibility for expanding Stifel’s investor relationships across New York and the broader East Coast.
Morrison spent 15 years at SVB, including three years leading its growth-stage practice and more than a decade in credit and venture lending.
Scott most recently worked at TriplePoint Capital, focusing on private credit investments in high-growth technology companies. He previously led SVB’s Enterprise Software team in New York and has also worked as a venture investor, startup founder and operator.
Perry previously led SVB’s East Coast Investor Coverage operation from New York, working with venture capital firms and venture-backed technology companies.
She also spent nearly a decade as a startup founder and operator and previously held finance and investment roles at JPMorgan and Google.
The additions come as Stifel builds a broader banking platform around venture-backed companies from early financing stages through later-stage growth and eventual public-market activity.
Stifel’s Venture Banking business now includes more than 125 client-facing professionals across major U.S. technology markets. The firm has also recently added dedicated Project Finance and Life Sciences and Healthcare teams.
The platform serves more than 500 high-growth companies across sectors including AI, climate technology, consumer technology, cybersecurity, fintech and healthcare.
Stifel said its Venture Banking platform has provided more than $12 billion in loan commitments to date.
“The innovation economy is an important growth opportunity for Stifel. Their experience and relationships strengthen our ability to serve entrepreneurs and investors with the full capabilities of Stifel, from early stage financing through the public markets and beyond.”
Ron Kruszewski, Chairman and CEO of Stifel
“We look forward to partnering with founders and investors from the earliest stages of a company’s growth through pre-IPO and beyond, providing the banking, financing, and advisory solutions they need as their businesses evolve.”
