Gas tax relief in Indiana has made the Hoosier state the cheapest state to purchase gasoline
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana counties, cities and towns will receive gas tax reimbursements after the State Board of Finance unanimously approved the reimbursements.
“I made a commitment that we would provide gas tax relief to Hoosiers without leaving our local communities to foot the bill,” said Gov. Mike Braun. “I’m grateful to the Board of Finance for their partnership in once again helping us keep that promise. Right now, local leaders across Indiana are focused on cleaning up from historic storms, repairing damaged infrastructure and helping their neighbors recover, and they can continue to direct their efforts there.”
The approval comes at an important time as communities across Indiana are recovering from last week’s historic severe weather and flooding. Gov.
The State Board of Finance unanimously approved $130,450,219.60 in reimbursements for the period of June 1 through June 30, following its unanimous approval last month of reimbursements for April and May.
The Indiana State Comptroller’s Office will distribute $43,805,267.02 to counties, cities and towns over the next week.
