‘Baroquick’ Q2 Orders 151% ↑
“Shipping Competitiveness Will Continue to Improve Profitability”
SSG.COM’s online shopping sales have grown by double digits. By expanding weekly and immediate delivery using E-Mart stores as delivery bases, the number of “two-hour delivery” stores will be increased to up to 50 within this year.
According to SSG.COM on the 12th, Grocery sales increased 12% year-on-year in July. Sales of “Squeak Weekly Delivery,” which is operated based on E-Mart stores, rose 17% in the second quarter, and the growth rate reached nearly 30% in July.
The use of instant delivery is also increasing. The number of orders for “Baroquick,” which delivers products within a 3km radius of the store within an hour, increased 151% in the second quarter from the first quarter. The number of orders in June increased by 244% compared to January.
Last month, SSG Dotcom began piloting “two-hour delivery” at E-Mart’s Yangjae and Hanam branches. Unlike BaroQuick, which focuses on small orders, it is a service that delivers large-capacity shopping products quickly.
This month, it will introduce additional two-hour delivery to 10 E-Mart stores in major areas of Seoul, Busan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Daejeon. It plans to expand to up to 50 stores by the end of the year to secure up to 150,000 deliveries per day.
It is also strengthening its link to products and events with E-Mart. More than 6 out of 10 customers who purchased fresh food subject to the “Fresh Guarantee System” in the second quarter purchased fresh food again within the same quarter. The average daily online sales of the E-Mart discount event “Whale It Festa” in the second quarter increased 20% from the previous quarter.
The maintenance rate of subscription to the paid membership “Squeak 7 Club” exceeded 90%. The number of shopping orders made by members was about twice as high as that of non-members, and the customer unit price was more than 90%. Membership membership sales rose 15% in July from the previous month.
Choi Taek-won, CEO of SSG.COM, said, “We will continue to improve profitability through efficient business structure while increasing delivery competitiveness so that customers can quickly receive the products they need at the time they want.”
