Tenn. — An affiliate of SpaceXAI will invest $40 million in a new emergency response training center in Southaven, Mississippi as part of a land swap deal with the city, Southaven Mayor Darren Musselwhite announced Tuesday
The deal transfers 51 acres of city-owned land on Tulane Road, where Southaven’s current training facility is located, to MZX Tech. The land is near data centers operated by SpaceXAI.
In exchange, the city will get 69 acres of new land adjacent to 20 acres of city-owned land on Swinnea Road.

The company will provide $40 million for the construction of a new police and fire training facility on the land, Musselwhite said.
“This is an unprecedented private investment in public safety facilities for our city, county, state and possibly country,” Musselwhite said.
