Founded in late 2024, ModuTech is focused on mastering the full tactile perception technology stack. To achieve this, the company has built a technical matrix spanning “sensors, data acquisition, and tactile models.” Its portfolio includes MoVi visuo-tactile sensors, MoFi tactile modules, MoGlo tactile gloves, and tactile models—covering everything from core components to algorithmic solutions.
On the sensor front, ModuTech isn’t betting on a single technology. Instead, it deeply integrates visuo-tactile and piezoresistive approaches, allowing each to play to its strengths while compensating for the other’s weaknesses.
Take the fingertips, which demand high spatial resolution. The visuo-tactile solution uses optical imaging to detect light field changes caused by elastic deformation upon contact. This allows it to reconstruct 3D topography, predict slip, and capture full six-axis force data—making it ideal for aligning tiny components in precision assembly or anticipating slip during dynamic grasping.
For larger areas like finger pads and palms—where space is tight and flexibility matters—piezoresistive flexible electronic skin is the better fit. These modules are thin, bendable, and conform to curved surfaces. Using micro-nano sensing structures and 3D force algorithms, they provide real-time feedback on grip strength, contact posture, and surface texture, making them particularly suited for large-envelope grasping and collision detection.
In practice, this means the visuo-tactile system delivers “local high-precision” feature points, while the piezoresistive skin provides a “global continuous” pressure map. Together, they enable robots to detect tiny protrusions along an object’s edge while simultaneously determining if the overall grip is stable.

For data acquisition, ModuTech has built a system that ensures multi-modal, high-frequency synchronization and task-level alignment. It fuses data from multiple sources—including tactile inputs (pressure, 3D force, micro-vibration, temperature), visual feeds, and robot status and control commands. By unifying timestamps and aligning events, the system precisely maps heterogeneous data onto a single timeline. Following professional task annotation and high-speed cleaning, it outputs standardized, traceable, and training-ready data assets.
To support large-scale data collection, ModuTech has developed two product lines: fabric tactile gloves and tactile and pose-sensing gloves. The former captures real-time pressure changes as the hand touches objects, generating high-resolution pressure maps of the palm. The latter adds pose capture, recording full-hand posture information during human operation.
On the modeling front, ModuTech employs a dual-layer architecture: a “universal tactile foundation” paired with “task-specific skill models.” The foundation layer uses massive pre-training to master general tactile cognition, while the upper layer consists of models tailored for specific scenarios—enabling rapid adaptation to tasks like sorting, assembly, and dexterous manipulation.
The key advantage of this approach is a feedback loop: every completed operation feeds results back into the data system, refining model accuracy. This transforms a one-time hardware investment into a continuously evolving asset—one that gets smarter and more valuable the more it operates.
ModuTech has already forged deep partnerships with over a dozen leading companies in the humanoid robotics sector. One client has placed a multi-million-yuan order for mass production, with delivery imminent; another has integrated the company’s products into its supply chain and is ramping up from pilot to mass production. In industrial manufacturing, ModuTech’s MoTe thin-film pressure sensors have penetrated high-demand scenarios like new energy battery testing, 3C manufacturing, and automotive parts production.
