The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) has selected three undergraduate C. T. Bauer College of Business students to each receive a $15,000 scholarship.
Accounting students Trang Hoang, Thalia Le and Melvin Molina are 2026-2027 PCAOB Scholars, joining a program that awards merit-based scholarships to students across the country.

The program promotes the auditing profession and selects recipients to incentivize the career path. Molina, a senior who transferred to Bauer College, said he sees himself pursuing that path in the future.
“Audit in particular interests me because it’s more team-oriented,” Molina said. “The financial reporting aspect also is intriguing. Those are the classes that I enjoy.”
Prior to receiving the scholarship, Le expected to finish her senior year and start working full-time immediately after. Now with additional financial resources, she plans to continue her education.
“The scholarship will cover almost all my tuition for the next year,” Le said. “Because of this, I’m going to apply to graduate school and hopefully complete my CPA requirements through there.”
As an incoming junior, Hoang now plans to spend the second half of her undergraduate career getting more involved on campus, thanks to the scholarship.
“I enjoy being a student leader at Bauer,” Hoang said. “This scholarship has helped me reduce some financial burdens, so I can dedicate more time to my organizations. It’ll also help me budget for studying for the CPA exam.”
