Treats from Canonsburg-based Sarris Candies are available at most Giant Eagle and Market District locations, but Sarris is making its presence felt even more at one Market District store.
Last week, the Sarris Scoop Shop opened at the Market District store on Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh.
It will offer ice cream cones, sundaes, milkshakes and other treats. Sarris has an ice cream parlor at its Canonsburg store, so opening the Scoop Shop in Pittsburgh expands what the company calls its “ice cream experience.”
Bill Sarris, president and CEO of Sarris Candies, said in a news release, “We’ve been serving generations of families in Western Pennsylvania and beyond for more than 65 years, and we’re always looking for new ways to meet our customers where they are. Opening inside Market District gives us a great opportunity to do exactly that while introducing even more people to our ice cream.”
Dan Donovan, a spokesman for Market District, said that Market District stores showcase “outstanding product, local partners and food experiences to help our customers discover great taste. We’re thrilled to expand our longtime partnership with Sarris Candies to now feature a Sarris Scoop Shop inside of our Penn Avenue Market District location.”
