Fla. (WWSB) – Cassie Figueroa moved to Sarasota knowing no one and turned that fresh start into a mobile bar business called Sarasota Sips
Figueroa, small-business owner of Sarasota Sips, said her interest in <a href="https://bitcomme.com/metas-new-ai-tools-aim-to-help-small-businesses-turn-data-into-better-decisions-small-business-entrepreneurship-council/” title=”Meta’s New AI Tools Aim to Help Small Businesses Turn Data into Better Decisions – Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council”>entrepreneurship began in college, when she started a business called Smooth Rollin’ Cocoa. The business sold individual hot cocoa mixes that customers could make by adding water. Figueroa said it was one of her first experiences turning an idea into something she could sell.
After college, Figueroa went into corporate finance. She said she knew she ultimately wanted to build something of her own.
Figueroa quit her corporate finance job and moved to Sarasota without knowing anyone in the area. On the drive to Sarasota, she was in a car accident. She arrived in the city with no car, no job and no local network, and said she began building a life there from scratch.
That entrepreneurial drive led to the creation of Sarasota Sips, a mobile bar business built around bringing a coastal drink experience to people and events around the Suncoast.
Sarasota Sips provides coffee and matcha pop-ups, dry-hire bartending, and custom mobile bar service. The business serves weddings, corporate events, wellness events, markets, apartment communities and private celebrations.
Figueroa transformed a trailer into the Sarasota Sips mobile bar. The setup can also be scaled down to a table-style bar for locations where the trailer is not needed.
Figueroa said she incorporates other local businesses into Sarasota Sips. The espresso beans used in her drinks are locally roasted by Panama Red Coffee. She also uses organic matcha and simple ingredients in her drinks.
