Remark Appoints Retail and eCommerce Veteran David Weissman as EVP of Strategy to Continue Its Rapid Growth

BOSTON, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Remark, the AI commerce platform built for retail brands today announced the appointment of David Weissman as Executive Vice President of Strategy, a move that underscores the company’s rapid growth and its investment in the next phase of that trajectory. Remark now works with more than 70 brands representing tens of billions of dollars in retail sales, including Ariat, J.McLaughlin, Veronica Beard, and Sur La Table. The company has expanded quickly this year, launching real-time virtual try-on technology alongside its conversational AI advisor. Weissman’s arrival builds on that momentum. With more than 25 years of experience across e-commerce, digital commerce, and retail technology, he joins Remark to help lead strategy and growth as the company scales its AI and agentic technology across more of the industry’s leading brands.

Weissman joins Remark with deep expertise in digital customer experience and a track record of building technology around the way people actually shop. In 2024, he joined Tulip as EVP of Growth following its acquisition of Humankind, the ecommerce clienteling platform he founded. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at retail technology companies including GSI Commerce and led direct-to-consumer ecommerce initiatives at Target and BCBG, and has advised global brands including Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Quicksilver, and PetSmart. His entrepreneurial background includes founding Beauty By Design, a skincare brand built around one-to-one consultations with live estheticians via SMS, work that became the foundation for Humankind.
