Russian authorities did not anticipate Ukrainian attacks targeting warehouses owned by major e-commerce platforms Wildberries and Ozon.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin acknowledged the vulnerability during an address at a Business Russia congress, according to Meduza on October 15. Russian official figures or specific operational metrics regarding the damage were not detailed during the address.

“They are constantly taking steps that, frankly speaking, we should have probably foreseen, but we believed they wouldn’t think of doing this,” Putin said.
Putin also claimed that recent strikes against Russian oil refineries were minimal: “They hit a few places, but nothing very significant.”
These long-range operations by Ukrainian forces are our response to ongoing Russian missile and drone attacks targeting Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure. Ukrainian strikes on Russian rear logistics, supply chain hubs, and oil refineries aim to weaken the military capabilities supporting Russia’s invasion.
On the night of October 14, Russian forces launched 39 ballistic missiles and over 120 attack drones targeting energy and critical infrastructure across Kyiv and Kharkiv.
The main targets included Combined Heat and Power Plant No. 4 in Kyiv and CHP-5 in Kharkiv, leaving critical power and heating facilities severely damaged.
Despite Kyiv halting its strikes on Russian oil refineries for two days in line with a proposed energy ceasefire, Moscow continued its bombardment, damaging multiple gas and energy facilities across six regions, injuring 33 people, and prompting Ukrainian leadership to call for decisive international sanctions and additional Patriot air defense systems.
