Texas (KLTV) – Pet owners and their pets are invited to the Dog-Gone Good Time Local Vendor Market this weekend at The Market at Moonlight Acres in Pittsburg
The event runs Saturday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features indoor and outdoor shopping with several local vendors, including pet vendors, according to market owner Dallas Jacks.
Jacks said the market gives small, local businesses a place to set up, advertise and sell their products. He said the mission of the local vendor market is to “shop small and support local.”
Jacks said the business started around 2021 as a boutique with about 10 vendors before expanding into the current market.
The event is pet friendly, and pets are allowed to attend, Jacks said.
Admission and parking are free, Jacks said.
A photo contest called the Doggone Good Time photo shoot will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Categories include best dressed, cutest and most creative. Entry costs $10, and photos will be posted online, Jacks said. The winner in each category receives 50% of the money collected in that category, and the other 50% goes toward bike donations for children at Christmas, Jacks said.
A 50/50 cash draw will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets cost $2 each, and the winner will be announced around 4 p.m. The winner takes home 50% of the proceeds, with the other 50% going toward the bike donations, Jacks said.
The market will also offer $2 vendor-sponsored raffles and a vendor-sponsored guest giveaway basket. The giveaway basket entry is free and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., requiring only a name, phone number and birth date to enter, Jacks said.
Jacks said last year’s bike donation effort provided 75 bikes for children, and organizers are hoping to provide more than 100 bikes this year.
