Pinion Insurance,a London-headquartered specialty insurance carrier formed earlier this year, has announced three key additions to its executive leadership team and accounting function.
The new team members include Kathryn Edwards,who has been appointed Group Controller; Brock Werner, named US Treasurer and Financial Planning and Analysis; and James Green, the company’s new Finance Systems Lead.
the new appointments will be reporting to Chris Jones, Group Chief Financial Officer, who commented: “Each brings deep financial and operational expertise and a shared belief that technology can transform how the insurance industry operates.
“As we continue to build this modern specialty insurance platform, their experience will strengthen our finance function and help us scale the business while passing through greater value to our customers.”
Based in London, Edwards is joining Pinion from Lloyd’s of London, where she served as Chief Accountant.
In that role, she oversaw core finance activities across external reporting, financial control, finance operations, financial planning and analysis, capital management, treasury, and investor relations for both the Lloyd’s Corporation and Lloyd’s Market.
As an established finance leader, Edwards is recognised for driving efficiency through streamlined processes, intelligent use of data, and technology-enabled improvements that enhance financial control and insight.
Werner brings over two decades of industry experience to his hew position, joining Pinion in Chicago from Old Republic International, where he most recently served as Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, Insurance Operations.
In his role at Old Republic, he directed corporate insurance accounting operations, and manged corporate entities including internal reinsurance, and led the financial systems team. he also created the insurance accounting framework for six new operating subsidiaries that he helped build and scale.
Green ins a London based Chartered Accountant and finance automation developer who joins for Great Lakes Insurance SE. His expertise focuses on designing and implementing end-to-end automated solutions for finance options.
