According to a release, organizers said a potential threat of severe weather across the Pittsburgh region, which is anticipated to occur between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., lead to the decision.
A few gusty and stronger thunderstorms could interrupt your outdoor plans this afternoon. Heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail are possible.
Unlike recent heavy rain and thunderstorm events, this will NOT be a line of storms nor slow-moving cells. The flooding risk is lower too.

“While it is never easy to cancel an event that so many artists, vendors, performers, merchants and community partners have worked hard to prepare for, the safety of everyone involved must always come first,” Uncover Squirrel Hill and I Made It! Market said in a joint statement. “Based on the current forecast and guidance from our weather partners, we believe canceling today’s event is the safest and most responsible decision.”
Organizers are currently working to confirm a potential reschedule date. The new, proposed date is Saturday, Aug. 29, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Final details are expected to be announced early next week.
