Baby lifestyle brand Munchkin has named Kunal Thakkar its chiefsupply chainofficer.
Thakkar now oversees the company’s global operations and supply chain, compliance, sourcing, demand planning and analytics, order management, and program management functions. He reports to Steven Dunn, the founder and CEO of parent company Why Brands.
“Kunal’s appointment represents an important investment in the operational excellence and capabilities we need for Munchkin’s next phase of growth,” Dunn said in a statement.
Thakkar joins Munchkin from Seair, a sea plane company, where he served as global CEO and transformed the traditional freight forwarder into a technology-enabled, end-to-end supply chain platform.
He brings 20 years of leadership experience across global supply chain and operations in the consumer products, retail, e-commerce and logistics spaces.

As the previous chief supply chain officer of Thrasio, a consumer goods company that aggregates and scales third-party Amazon private-label brands, Thakkar oversaw a $100 million-plus supply chain budget across sourcing, warehousing, transportation and inventory, delivering millions in cost savings and reducing gross inventory by nearly half in 18 months.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Firstleaf, Walmart, Newegg and UPS.
“His experience scaling global, omnichannel supply chains will help Munchkin bring greater innovation, speed to market, resilience and customer service to everything we do, while strengthening the capabilities needed to scale our direct-to-consumer business across owned and third-party digital channels,” said Dunn.
