Market Basket in Scarborough (WGME)
SCARBOROUGH, Maine (WGME) — Maine’s newest Market Basket location is set to open in Scarborough.
The Market Basket store in Scarborough is expected to open on Nov. 6.
Officials say the new Market Basket store is in The Downs in Scarborough at the corner of Market Street and Scarborough Downs Road. This is Scarborough’s third major grocery store.
The 80,000 square foot store will offer over 50,000 products at the new location.
The Scarborough store is the fourth Maine location, along with Topsham, Westbrook, and Biddeford.
The first Market Basket store opened in Lowell, Massachusetts, in 1917.
The retailer operates over 90 locations across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine.
The grocer credits low prices, strong customer service, and loyalty to associates for its success and growth over the last century.
