Lynxterhas launched an add-on for its silicone 3D printers that promises bigger prints and productivity.
‘OVERTIME’ is a patented option designed for its S300X – LIQ21 | LIQ11 systems, and is said to make it possible to print larger, more complex parts in greater numbers, without compromising material quality. It will be previewed at Formnext (booth 12.1 – B71) next month.
OVERTIME enables the full build volume of the machine to be used in a single print, and is said to overcome current constraints of silicone additive <a href="https://bitcomme.com/the-next-growth-opportunity-for-manufacturing/” title=”The next growth opportunity for manufacturing”>manufacturing, which is typically limited by the material’s curing time inside the print head. OVERTIME extends the available printing time, delivering what Lynxter believes equates to 36 x more printing autonomy, without affecting material performance, and the opportunity to create larger parts and thin-walled geometries at higher resolution.
“After several years of development, we have finally succeeded in breaking through the glass ceiling of silicone 3D printing. We have miniaturised the solution and are making it available as an add-on module compatible with most S300X – LIQ21 | LIQ11 printers currently in operation around the world,” said Thomas Batigne, Co-founder and CEO of Lynxter. “The entire Lynxter team is especially proud of this achievement: moving from technology pioneer to a true vehicle for industrial production, without compromising on values or quality.”
OVERTIME is compatible with several silicones, including SIL-001, SIL-002, SIL-004, as well as the COPSIL-0550, COPSIL-1050, COPSIL-2550 and COPSIL-4050 ranges. The option is available with nozzle diameters ranging from 0.40 mm to 1.00 mm. For certain earlier versions of the S300X, a modification to the print head is required.
