Semrush’s official Claude connector gives paid subscribers access to the company’s live search and marketing data inside Claude, removing the need to export reports and upload them by hand. The Semrush Claude connector launched on 26 August 2026 and is available to Semrush One and SEO Classic plan subscribers.
Semrush Claude connector: what it does
The connector links a Semrush account to Claude through the Claude connector ecosystem. Users can ask for keyword strategy, backlink audits, competitor gap analysis and market research in a conversation, with Semrush data returned as part of the workflow. Semrush says the integration is intended to move from insight to action in a single conversation.
Semrush also lists recurring workflows that can be automated through Claude, including monthly client reports, weekly toxic-link alerts and daily competitor-rank monitoring. The data can feed repeatable reporting and monitoring tasks for agencies and in-house teams, rather than stopping at a one-off answer.
What data can Claude access?
Semrush says its dataset contains 28.8 billion keywords, 43 trillion backlinks and 317 million LLM prompts. Those figures describe the scale of the data available through its tools; they do not mean every Claude request will query the entire database.
The connector is built on Semrush MCP, or Model Context Protocol. Semrush’s developer documentation says MCP provides AI tools with secure access to its public APIs, and lists Claude alongside Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code as supported destinations. API requests made through MCP use the same API units as direct requests, according to the documentation.
Semrush is positioning the release around the shift from traditional search visibility to visibility in AI answers. The company has already added MCP access for other major AI platforms, making this part of a broader attempt to put its data inside marketing workflows.
The Semrush Claude connector is available now to Semrush One and SEO Classic subscribers. The company has not announced a separate connector fee, but existing plan and API-unit limits still apply. Semrush’s official announcement and Search Engine Watch’s report cover the launch.
