The Technopolis Development
Authority has hosted a delegation of Korean climate-tech startups participating
in the Korea-Africa Foundation (KAF) 2026 Global Accelerating Program, as part
of their visit to Kenya.
The engagement focused on
opportunities for collaboration in smart city infrastructure, climate
innovation and technology testbeds, with the delegation also introduced to
Konza Technopolis as a platform for developing, testing and adopting innovative
technologies.
The Korean delegation
comprised startups operating across several climate-tech areas, including clean
energy and energy storage, solar panel recycling, agri-tech, water treatment,
battery management systems, and climate data and early-warning technologies.
The discussions highlighted
opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Kenya and South Korea in the
development and deployment of climate-smart technologies.
The visit also provided a
platform for Korean technology companies to connect with Kenya’s emerging
innovation ecosystem and explore potential opportunities to test and scale
solutions within the country.

Authority said the engagement reinforced the potential for partnerships focused
on sustainable urban development, climate resilience and technology-driven
innovation.
