The two men in charge of Jeffrey Epstein’s estate are reportedly under investigation by federal prosecutors in New York City.
Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn are being probed by the Justice Department, according toThe Wall Street Journal, which was unable to determine exactly what the two men are being investigated for.
Indyke, Epstein’s lawyer, and Kahn, the late pedophile’s accountant, have long denied any knowledge of their client’s sex trafficking operation, but Manhattan federal prosecutors have been looking into the emails and financial documents of potential witnesses, according to the outlet.
Prosecutors have also been scheduling interviews with those witnesses, sources told The Journal:
The Wall Street Journal couldn’t determine what charges are being explored. People interviewed by prosecutors described Kahn’s and Indyke’s roles in legal entities that allegedly helped conceal Epstein’s activities and the two men’s handling of financial and legal matters involving young women, according to people familiar with the interviews.
The two men have been handling Epstein’s estate since his death on Aug. 10, 2019, when he took his own life in a Manhattan jail cell.
They’re in line to collect big bucks from the work which cited documents showing Indkye could get a whopping $50 million and Kahn could collect a more modest $25 million
The estate has also established a fund overseen by Indyke and Kahn, which has doled out more than $120 million to dozens of victims.
Only one person so far has faced criminal consequences for Epstein’s long-running sex trafficking scheme: his madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence and who has become a political lightning rod after she was transferred to a cushier prison following an interview with now-U.S. Attorney Todd Blanche.
Blanche was Deputy Attorney General in 2025 when he sat down for the interview with Maxwell.
