[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] Actress Jang Seo-hee, who won love for “Temptation of Wife,” shared her determination as an actress.
According to Woman Chosun on the 25th, Jang Seo-hee spoke about taking on her first main villain role since her debut in the KBS 2TV daily drama “Trap of Desire” and shared her sincere thoughts on acting.
In the photoshoot, Jang Seo-hee showed a range of contrasting charms through various styles, starting with a striking look in a red jacket and pants, then moving to a black top with chain details and a skirt with gold buttons, and a black sleeveless dress with floral accents.
She also revealed why she chose her first main villain role. Jang Seo-hee said, “I’ve always played roles where I was hurt and then took revenge, but this time, the idea of becoming the one who torments others as a ‘villain’ felt appealing.” She added, “If I ever took on a villain role, I didn’t want to play a cliché bad person, and I also wanted to avoid the typical kind of villain acting where you just shout and glare.”
Her approach to acting preparation, which has remained steady despite her long career, also drew attention. “Acting fades if you don’t keep doing it. No matter how long you’ve been acting, if you take a break for a few years, it feels very awkward when you return to the set,” she said. “So you always have to keep your instincts sharp and be fully prepared. Even if I appear on screen after a long time, I want people not to be disappointed in my acting.”
She also expressed her resolve during the filming of a daily drama, a long run of around 100 episodes. She said there were days when filming was halted in intense heat nearing 38 degrees Celsius, and many nights when she stayed up all night.
“The more difficult scenes there are, the more I end up loving the project,” she said. She explained that the time spent by the cast and crew working together and enduring the process makes the set feel even stronger.
She also spoke about her still-unfulfilled ambitions as an actress. “My desire? Of course, it’s for the project to do well. It’s for many people to love it. My goal as an actress is also to be recognized for good acting. People say I’ve already been recognized, but I still want to keep being recognized,” she said.
