Invest Qatar, Aurion Capital, and LG NOVA have entered into a memorandum of understanding to explore technology investments and venture-building opportunities in Qatar and across the Middle East. The collaboration is intended to connect international technology companies with regional investors, industry partners, and commercial opportunities while supporting the development of Qatar’s innovation ecosystem.
The agreement was announced during a special edition of the Qatar Economic Forum Powered by Bloomberg, held in New York alongside the 2026 United Nations General Assembly.
The partnership brings together Invest Qatar, the country’s investment promotion agency; Aurion Capital, an American investment group; and LG NOVA, LG Electronics’ Silicon Valley-based North America Innovation Center.
The three organizations intend to explore opportunities across high-growth technology sectors, including artificial intelligence, digital health, financial technology, digital infrastructure, sports, media, and entertainment.
A central element of the proposed collaboration is developing a dedicated innovation hub at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP).
The anticipated hub would provide a regional platform for LG NOVA-affiliated companies and technologies, helping startups establish operations, form commercial partnerships, and expand into markets across the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Middle East and North Africa.
Through the initiative, the organizations plan to connect technology companies with investment resources and commercial infrastructure to support international expansion.
The memorandum of understanding establishes a framework for potential collaboration, not a binding investment commitment. The organizations have not disclosed a specific financial commitment, investment fund size, or timetable for launching the proposed hub.
Under the agreement, Invest Qatar will work with Aurion Capital and LG NOVA to design innovation programs in collaboration with national stakeholders.
The agency will also provide investment facilitation and advisory support to companies affiliated with Aurion Capital and LG NOVA that are considering establishing or expanding operations in Qatar.
These services may include assistance with identifying local partners, evaluating market opportunities, and navigating the country’s business and investment environment.
Aurion Capital and LG NOVA will explore how their existing investment and innovation capabilities could support technology testing, localization, and commercialization in Qatar.
The collaboration is intended to create opportunities for companies originally developed in Silicon Valley and other international innovation markets to establish a commercial presence in the Middle East.
For LG NOVA, the agreement could provide an additional international platform for startups participating in its venture-building ecosystem.
Based in Santa Clara, California, with a branch office in Morgantown, West Virginia, LG NOVA focuses on developing new businesses through collaboration with entrepreneurs, investors, and technology partners.
Its activities emphasize AI-first ventures and emerging technologies that could create additional business opportunities for LG Electronics and its partners.
Aurion Capital brings investment management and venture-building capabilities across venture capital, private equity, infrastructure, and strategic industries.
The investment group operates across sectors including technology, media, telecommunications, healthcare, sports and entertainment, critical minerals, and energy infrastructure.
Its portfolio of investment platforms includes NovaWave Capital, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm focused on artificial intelligence with $100 million in assets under management.
Aurion Capital also serves as General Partner to BYL Ventures, a Los Angeles-based venture capital fund with $70 million in assets under management.
These figures describe existing investment platforms associated with Aurion Capital and do not represent capital committed to the new Qatar collaboration.
For Invest Qatar, the agreement supports its objective of attracting international technology businesses and expanding private-sector investment in the country’s priority industries.
Established in 2019, the agency works with international companies throughout the investment process, from initial market exploration and business establishment to commercial expansion.
The proposed collaboration will connect these services with LG NOVA’s technology ventures and Aurion Capital’s international investment network.
