- D-Wave Quantum Inc. recently completed a finance leadership transition, with senior vice president of finance Greg Golkov becoming acting Chief Financial Officer and principal financial and accounting officer following the retirement of long-time CFO John Markovich on September 2, 2026.
- Markovich’s departure, which the company says did not stem from disagreements over financial reporting or controls, comes as D-Wave faces weaker-than-expected revenue and new legal investigations, keeping attention firmly on its governance and financial oversight.
- We’ll now examine how the CFO transition and related governance concerns may affect D-Wave Quantum’s previously outlined investment narrative.

Those numbers highlight why investors are focused on governance, controls and capital discipline as Golkov steps in. His prior responsibility for SEC reporting and financial planning suggests the board is emphasizing stability in how the company reports, funds and measures progress on the same commercialization milestones investors are watching.

You can copy Bill Ackman and buy Netflix. Knowing why you did is the hard part.
Netflix case is interesting. The scariest competitor is the one that does not need to make money. Amazon can run video at a loss forever because it is really a Prime retention tool with a content budget attached. On the other hand there is Youtube.
Pershing Square hasn’t beaten the S&P over the last five years, though the long-run record is genuinely good. I like Ackman as a person. I enjoy listening to Ackman and that’s about where it ends for me.
