Deloitte report: Holiday retail sales projected to hit $1.7T
Deloitte predicts holiday retail sales this season will hit an estimated $1.7 trillion and $1.71 trillion between the season’s November to January timeframe.
The research firm expects e-commerce sales to grow between 7.5% and 8.4%, year over year, hitting $361.1 billion and $318.9 billion. Last year’s spend was $294 billion, according to a press release.
The news comes on the heels of Bain & Company’s annual U.S. retail holiday forecast that also predicts sales to exceed $1 trillion for the first time ever, based on an expected 4.5% year-over-year retail sales increase this holiday shopping season.
