Giant Food’s website and mobile app are once again accepting orders.
A week ago, hackers forced Giant’s parent company to shut down its online presence. There’s no evidence that the cyberattack compromised customers’ information and Giant released the following statement, which read in part:
“Thank you for your patience as we have restored access to our website and Giant Food app. Customers can now place pick-up and delivery orders online. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by this temporary outage and appreciate the understanding our customers showed throughout the disruption.”
Giant is offering a discount to affected customers as all online shoppers can get $20 off any order of $75 or more on Giant’s website by using the code “welcome back 20.”
Giant is also extending flexible rewards points that would have expired on Oct. 31 by one month.
