Gap Inc. has appointed Forerunner founder and Managing Partner Kirsten Green to its Board of Directors as the retailer continues its transformation and looks for additional growth opportunities across its portfolio of brands.
Green brings more than two decades of investing experience centered on identifying changes in consumer behavior and backing companies positioned to capitalize on those shifts.
She founded Forerunner in 2012 and has since helped the venture capital firm partner with more than 100 companies from early stages through scale.
The portfolio has included OURA, Chime, Hims & Hers, Faire, Wispr Flow, Suno, Warby Parker, Dollar Shave Club and Town.
Under Green’s leadership, Forerunner has raised nearly $3 billion from institutional investors and invested across businesses ranging from fintech and healthcare to consumer products and commerce.
Her appointment comes as Gap continues strengthening its core operations while expanding the reach and relevance of Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta.
The company has also recently moved further into adjacent categories including beauty and accessories.
Gap CEO Richard Dickson sees Green’s track record of identifying emerging consumer trends as particularly relevant as the company evaluates new ways to grow its brands and deepen their cultural relevance.
“Kirsten has a demonstrated ability to anticipate shifts in consumer behavior, meet customers where they are, and translate those insights into meaningful business opportunities.”
Richard Dickson, President and CEO of Gap Inc.
“Kirsten understands what it takes to turn bold ideas into lasting sources of growth.”
Mayo A. Shattuck III, Chair of the Board of Gap Inc.
“I’m inspired by the momentum Richard and the team have created and the opportunity ahead to build on that legacy.”
