Wis. (WBAY) -Four Green Bay police officers are hurt after a disturbance in Green Bay early Saturday morning
The Green Bay Police Department says officers were called to the area of Doty and Washington streets just after 2:15 Saturday morning for a report of a disturbance at a food truck.
As officers were investigating, a vehicle drove into a crowd of bystanders and officers. Police say an officer fired their gun at that time. No one was hurt from that gunfire.
The vehicle then sped off but was stopped in the area of North Monroe Avenue and Pine Street by other officers.
The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of Operating While Intoxicated with the help of Wisconsin State Patrol.
Four officers received non-life-threatening injuries and needed medical treatment. Officers involved were wearing body-cameras and police say the footage will be reviewed.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office will be assisting Green Bay police in investigating the portion of the case where the officer fired their gun.
Green Bay police say that officer is now on administrative leave per the department’s policy.
Downtown Green Bay, Inc. canceled the downtown farmers market today as a result of the investigation
