Ore.— A Sherwood woman faces multiple felony charges after authorities say she embezzled more than $1.1 million over a seven-year span from a Newberg-based golf course construction company
Detectives with the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office arrested 65-year-old Lauri Lynn O’Connor at her residence on Thursday, November 5, 2026. The arrest followed an indictment by a Yamhill County Grand Jury on 17 counts, including first-degree aggravated theft and falsifying business records.
The charges stem from an investigation into O’Connor’s time as bookkeeper for Milroy Golf Systems, a golf course construction and irrigation firm. According to authorities, the company initially uncovered bookkeeping anomalies and suspicious financial activity in late 2025 before firing O’Connor that October.
Milroy Golf Systems subsequently retained Portland forensic accounting firm Morones Analytics to conduct a comprehensive audit. The investigation uncovered evidence of an alleged scheme stretching from 2018 through 2025. Investigators report O’Connor fabricated invoices, altered QuickBooks ledger entries, took unauthorized employee draws, and forged company checks to deposit funds into her personal bank accounts.
Morones Analytics brought the findings to Yamhill County law enforcement in July 2026. Following an investigation led by the sheriff’s office Street Crimes and Narcotics (SCAN) unit, detectives and forensic analysts presented their evidence to the grand jury on October 28.
Following her arrest, O’Connor was booked into the Yamhill County Correctional Facility.
Authorities noted that O’Connor operated an independent service under the business name LLO Bookkeeping & Payroll Inc., marketing herself online as an Oregon Notary, Licensed Tax Preparer, and certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
Due to her broad access to client financial records and accounting software across various ventures, investigators suspect there may be additional victims.
