Ahold Delhaize, which is the parent company of Food Lion, said on October 12 that its online services were experiencing a “security issue within its network” and took some systems offline.
Food Lion customers were able to place delivery orders through Instacart, DoorDash and UberEats while the website and app were unavailable. However, the store had to refund people who already had grocery orders placed online during the cybersecurity incident. Officials said customers who had prescriptions were required to call Food Lion for assistance.
“Your trust means so much to us, and we never take it for granted. Thank you for shopping with us and being a valued Food Lion customer. We really appreciate it.”
No locations were closed due to this cybersecurity incident with Food Lion’s online services.
