Ecomap Technologies Connects Maryland Entrepreneurs with Local Resources (7News)
WASHINGTON (7News) —Starting or growing a business can mean navigating a maze of funding opportunities, licensing requirements, talent resources and advice.
Ecomap Technologies, a Baltimore-based company, is working to make those resources easier to find.
Co-founder and CEO Sherrod Davis said he knows the challenge firsthand. Having started several businesses himself, he saw how useful information was often scattered across websites or held by individuals.
Founded in 2018, Ecomap organizes that information in one central database, helping entrepreneurs and small business owners identify resources that fit their needs. The company now serves more than 100 communities and regions.
Ecomap also works with chambers of commerce and other business groups. Davis said the platform gives those organizations a way to share information with members in a more personalized, scalable way—helping local businesses grow, hire and connect with their communities.
TEDCO has supported Ecomap as one of its earliest investors. Davis said that support has gone beyond funding, opening doors to conferences and other opportunities. To learn more about Ecomap visit www.ecomap.tech.
For people starting or growing a business—especially a technology company—Davis recommends reaching out to TEDCO. The organization can help connect entrepreneurs with resources at different stages, from an early idea to hiring a first employee. For more information about TEDCO visit www.tedcomd.com.
