Stock market today: Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq futures climb after record-breaking rally
US stock futures continued to march higher as a global bond sell-off and soaring diesel costs haven’t dented investors’ optimism over upcoming earnings and the artificial intelligence boom.
Contracts for the Nasdaq-100 (NQ=F) rose by 0.1% after the Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) reached a fresh record high, bolstered by all-time highs in Nvidia shares (NVDA) and other tech names.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (YM=F) rose 0.1%, while those on the S&P 500 (ES=F) climbed above the flat line. The S&P 500 (^GSPC) is less than 1% away from its record high.
Rising bond yields continue to play a key role, with the 10-year yield (^TNX) sitting at 5.31%, its highest closing level in 24 years. The 30-year yield (^TYX) at 5.66% is also at its highest since 2002.
Tech stocks also caught a bid on Monday after Taiwanese Nvidia partner Foxconn (2354.TW) reported healthy earnings, signaling strong demand globally for AI infrastructure. We’re watching Nvidia shares as the company’s market capitalization nears $6 trillion.
On Tuesday, Constellation Brands (STZ) and Lamb Weston Holdings (LW) report earnings, while the economic calendar remains quiet.
