Diageo PLC (LSE:DGE) has appointed WPP PLC (LSE:WPP) chief financial officer Joanne Wilson as its new CFO, with Wilson set to join the drinks group’s board and executive committee in 2027.
She will replace Nik Jhangiani, who joined Diageo from Coca-Cola Europacific Partners in September 2024 and also served as interim chief executive between July and December 2025.
Wilson has previously held senior finance and commercial roles at Britvic, Dunnhumby, Tesco and KPMG, where she qualified as a chartered accountant. She is also a non-executive director of Informa PLC (LSE:INF).
Chief executive Sir Dave Lewis said Wilson’s experience in transformation would support Diageo as it seeks to accelerate its turnaround following the recent unveiling of its new strategy.
Jhangiani will remain in the role during the transition to ensure a smooth handover.
Wilson will receive an annual salary of £900,000 and a pension contribution of 14% of base salary.
She will also be eligible for an annual incentive worth up to 200% of salary and, subject to shareholder approval at November’s annual meeting, a long-term incentive award of up to 550% of salary.
Wilson will be required to build a shareholding equivalent to 550% of her salary.
Jhangiani will remain eligible for a prorated annual bonus for the year ending June 2027, while outstanding long-term incentive awards will remain subject to their existing performance conditions.
