New capabilities for the DDN Infinia platform are designed to enable GPUs to initiate data operations directly, accelerating data access and improving efficiency at massive scale
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 4, 2026 — DDN today announced a collaboration with NVIDIA within the Storage-Next initiative and focused on helping organizations achieve greater business and financial value from their AI investments.
The companies are working together to create a faster, more efficient connection between NVIDIA accelerated computing and the DDN Infinia data intelligence platform. By enabling GPUs to access the data they need more directly, the collaboration is designed to reduce delays, keep valuable computing resources productive, and accelerate the delivery of AI-driven outcomes.
DDN will demonstrate the technology at Flash Memory Summit, highlighting how a more efficient flow of data can help organizations increase the productivity of their AI infrastructure. For customers building large-scale AI environments, even small improvements in GPU utilization can translate into faster results, lower operating costs, and a greater return on significant compute investments.
As AI initiatives move from experimentation into business-critical production, organizations face growing pressure to control infrastructure costs while increasing performance and scale. GPUs represent one of the largest investments within an AI environment, yet their value is underutilized whenever they are left waiting for data. DDN and NVIDIA are addressing this challenge by helping data move more efficiently, allowing organizations to complete more AI work with the infrastructure, power, and data-center capacity they already have.

Over the past several months, DDN’s Infinia research and development team has worked with NVIDIA to evaluate the technology. The collaboration has already produced working capabilities that demonstrate the potential to improve the efficiency and scalability of large AI environments.
The development builds on the distributed architecture of DDN Infinia, which is designed to support the performance, security, and scale required by AI factories, sovereign AI initiatives, research institutions, and enterprise AI deployments. For customers, the objective is straightforward: reduce data-related delays, increase infrastructure productivity, accelerate AI outcomes, and improve the overall economics of deploying AI at scale.
