Dallas-based enterprise data pipeline startup DataBahn closed a $40 million Series B funding round led by New York-based Insight Partners.
The Series B included participation from existing investors Forgepoint Capital, GTM Capital and S3 Ventures. The round brings DataBahn’s total funding to $59 million, the company said. It comes roughly 13 months after DataBahn closed a $17 million Series A round.
The company said the new capital will fund research and development and product innovation as it expands its platform.
“This isn’t about a funding story,” co-founder and CEO Nanda Santhana said in a video discussing the funding round. “This is about where we as DataBahn are headed towards. When we started DataBahn, it was all about moving the right data to the right destination, providing a ton of intelligence without data engineering effort. But AI is changing the landscape.”
The company describes its product as an “agentic data control plane” rather than a traditional data pipeline. This control plane continuously reduces, enriches and routes only the data required for real-time operations, while retrieving additional enterprise context on demand.
“AI is changing every enterprise application, and AI is only as good as the enterprise data it can understand,” Santhana said in a statement announcing the Series B. “The next generation of enterprise infrastructure won’t be built around moving more data — it will be built around intelligently orchestrating the right data at the right time.”
Max Wolff, managing director at Insight Partners, said in a statement that DataBahn is building infrastructure enterprise leaders describe as foundational to their future security architecture. “The next generation of enterprise infrastructure won’t be defined by where data is stored, but by how intelligently it can be orchestrated for AI,” Wolff said.
DataBahn said it now powers data operations for Fortune 100 companies across the healthcare, financial services, manufacturing and transportation industries. It didn’t disclose specific revenue or customer numbers, but the company said it has more than 400% year-over-year revenue growth, 180% net revenue retention and zero customer churn.
One of its customers is Fairmont, West Virginia-based MVB Bank. The bank used DataBahn’s agentic data control plane to modernize and streamline its processes, key to supporting the bank’s fleet of AI agents.
“The results have been significant,” Parrish Gunnels, chief information security officer at MVB Bank, said in a statement on DataBahn’s website. “We have realized savings while improving consistency and reliability. More importantly, we have been able to redirect valuable team resources toward higher-value governance, risk management and oversight activities.”
Another customer, the Toronto-based Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, uses DataBahn to streamline its security data tools instead of navigating a patchwork of platforms and custom integrations.
“DataBahn gave us a standardized, repeatable way to onboard security data,” Ricardo Henry, lead of security architecture and engineering at the investment board, said in a statement on DataBahn’s website. “New sources come online more efficiently, we can identify coverage gaps quickly, and as a result the platform has become an important part of our operational ecosystem. As our logging requirements have grown, it has flexed to support new data sources and use cases without extensive rework.”
The Series B follows other recent moves at DataBahn. In July 2025, the company named Preston Wood as chief security and strategy officer. It also added two sales leaders: Payman Faed as senior vice president of sales for the western U.S. and Trevor Crompton as vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The company said it plans to preview the new capabilities of its agentic data control plane at the Black Hat USA 2026 conference. Black Hat runs through Thursday, Aug. 6, in Las Vegas.
