Cycle Capital has appointed Rémi Fournier as Managing Partner and a capital investor in Cycle Capital Management, adding an experienced technology entrepreneur and investor to the ClimateTech venture capital firm’s leadership team.
Fournier joins current Cycle Capital leaders Andrée-Lise Méthot and Claude Vachet and has been involved with the broader Cycle ecosystem since 2022 as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Cycle Momentum.
His appointment is also part of Cycle Capital’s longer-term succession planning as the investment firm prepares for its next stage of growth.
Fournier is a serial entrepreneur and investor with experience across telecommunications, digital advertising, cloud computing and software.
He co-founded Fibrenoire and helped build the company into what Cycle Capital described as the largest fiber network in Eastern Canada before its successful exit.
Fournier served as Chief Revenue Officer in many of his ventures, working across sales strategy, organizational design, product commercialization and acquisition-driven growth.
He has completed more than 40 investment transactions during his investing career and serves on the boards of several high-growth technology companies.
Most recently, Fournier was a Partner at BDC Capital, investing through the Sustainability Venture Fund and Climate Tech Fund, which together represent more than half a billion dollars in capital.
He founded Pinacle Road Capital in 2013 to invest family capital directly into early-stage companies and participate as a limited partner in venture capital and private equity funds.
Fournier holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, pursued graduate studies in industrial engineering and has an Executive MBA.
Cycle Capital was founded in 2009 and manages seven funds investing across North America and Europe, with strategies spanning DeepTech, circularity, new materials and WaterTech.
“We are delighted to share the great news that Rémi is joining Cycle Capital. He has been part of the family since 2022 as an entrepreneur in residence with Cycle Momentum, and we are glad to see that relationship deepen. His entrepreneurial experience will bring real value to the firm and to our portfolio companies. Rémi was selected as a key part of our succession: we took great care in choosing the people who will strengthen the firm as it grows and contribute to the leadership of Cycle Capital into its next chapter.”
