Coles to improve AI-powered product discovery on its website.
Coles Group has entered into a partnership with AI-powered search platform Coveo to improve product discovery on its website.
The deployment aims to help Coles customers navigate its online grocery range and find products more quickly
“We’re always looking for ways to make shopping with Coles easier for our customers, and search is an important part of the online experience,” said Ben Levinson, GM of digital product at Coles.
“Coveo demonstrated that its technology will make it easier for customers to find the products they are looking for, and we look forward to continuing to improve the Coles online shopping experience.”
The partnership follows a similar move by Metcash less than a month ago, as drinks businesses increasingly invest in AI and data technology. Last month, Endeavour introduced an AI-powered platform to leverage customer insights for its suppliers.
Caroline O’Brien, GM of data and AI at Coles Group, also discussed AI, agents, the future of retail and what it all means for suppliers at the most recent Drinks Association’s Network Breakfast.
Reflecting on AI’s evolution, O’Brien said Coles had been using the technology for around a decade, with its focus now shifting from isolated projects to connecting capabilities across the value chain.
Speaking of the partnership, Alexander Mahr, MD Apac at Coveo, said: “We’re proud to support Coles as it creates a smarter, more intuitive online grocery experience for customers across Australia.”
