Working with KAIST, Korail, and others, Ohu Dushilab pilots an “AI integrated carbon management platform,” aiming to drive innovation in the carbon accounting market

Climate tech startup Ohu Dushilab leads a project to upgrade a public carbon accounting management platform worth 2 billion won. The company said on the 2nd that it has been selected as the final winner in the environmental sector of the Ministry of Environment Energy and Environment’s “AI Applied Product Rapid Commercialization Support Program”, and will oversee the project for the next 12 months.

For the project, Ohu Dushilab formed a consortium with Ecosian Co., Ltd. and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). They will jointly develop a “multi-agent AI-based integrated carbon management platform” and begin pilot testing. Ecosian will handle business model optimization and commercialization in charge, leveraging its expertise in the environmental field. KAIST will support academic research to verify the reliability of its AI models.

In particular, key public and private organizations such as the Korea Environment Corporation, Korail (Korea Railroad Corporation), and the Siheung Industry Promotion Agency are taking part in large numbers as test beds, drawing attention. The plan is to apply an AI applied product directly to real operating sites to validate both on-site applicability and institutional consistency without building separate infrastructure. With the Korea Environment Corporation, they will test institutional consistency for public carbon management. With Korail, they will explore ways to improve carbon emission efficiency of ultra-large public assets. With the Siheung Industry Promotion Agency, they will build a win-win model that lowers global regulatory barriers by managing regional manufacturing small and midsize companies’ supply chain data in real time.

As global environmental regulations have recently tightened, demand for carbon accounting responses has surged. But most companies have relied on manual work for calculating and verifying emissions, facing issues such as cost burdens and falling accuracy. Through this assignment, Ohu Dushilab aims to standardize MRV (measurement, reporting, and verification) guidelines and raise data verification performance and carbon emission calculation accuracy to at least 90%.

Ohu Dushilab CEO Oh Kwang-myeong said, “In the carbon management platform market, the paradigm is shifting beyond simple data entry to an intelligent operating system where AI analyzes on its own.” He added, “Through pilots with national infrastructure and core organizations for small businesses, we will successfully establish next-generation carbon management solutions that can be applied immediately to regulatory sites both at home and abroad.”
