    China’s apparel exports to Taiwan grow, market share rises in Q1 2026

    • China strengthened its dominance in Taiwan’s apparel import market in Q1 2026, supplying $***** million worth of garments and raising its market share to **.* per cent from **.* per cent a year earlier, according to TexPro.
    • Despite cross-Strait political tensions, strong supply chains, competitive pricing, and manufacturing links continued to support bilateral trade.

    According to sourcing intelligence tool TexPro, Taiwan imported apparel worth $***.*** million during January-March ****, up *.* per cent from $***.*** million in the corresponding period of ****. China remained by far the largest supplier, with exports valued at $***.*** million, accounting for **.** per cent of Taiwan**;s total apparel imports. This represented an increase from $***.*** million and a **.** per cent market share in Q*****.

    Vietnam retained its position as Taiwan**;s second-largest supplier, although exports fell to $**.** million from $**.** million, reducing its market share from **.** per cent to **.** per cent. Italy strengthened its ranking as the third-largest supplier, with exports rising to $**.** million from $**.** million, increasing its market share from **.** per cent to **.** per cent.

    Bangladesh overtook Cambodia to become Taiwan**;s fourth-largest apparel supplier during the quarter. Bangladesh**;s exports increased to $**.*** million, lifting its market share to *.** per cent from *.** per cent a year earlier. Cambodia**;s exports fell to $**.*** million, with its share declining to *.** per cent from *.** per cent.

    China has consistently supplied nearly half of Taiwan**;s apparel imports in recent years. In ****, Taiwan imported apparel worth $*.*** billion, with shipments from China valued at $*.*** billion, accounting for **.** per cent of total imports. China**;s market share increased from **.** per cent in **** and **.** per cent in ****, reinforcing its dominant position in Taiwan**;s apparel import market.
