S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County School District has launched a Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen-AI) Resource Hub on its website to provide all CCSD members with information on the district’s approach to the advancing technology of AI
On the new platform, visitors will find updated district policies and guidance on the use of generative AI, along with videos from district leaders explaining the district’s vision for integrating AI into teaching and learning.
Additionally, the hub includes professional learning resources, classroom applications, frequently asked questions, and materials about how the district will responsibly utilize AI.
“Artificial intelligence is not a passing trend; it is transforming the world our students are entering. As educators, our responsibility is to ensure that they are prepared to use these tools thoughtfully and ethically, with strong critical-thinking skills,” Superintendent Anita Huggins said.
“We also recognize that this technology is evolving rapidly, which means our learning and our approach must continue to evolve as well. By sharing our work openly through this resource hub, we hope to provide transparency, build understanding, and invite our families and community to learn alongside us as we prepare students for the future,” Huggins added.
CCSD aims to establish responsible AI policies, build educator capacity through professional learning, and create learning environments where AI supports—not replaces—critical thinking, creativity, and human connection.
