Canva is expanding its scope to the productivity tool market beyond design production by strengthening documents and data analysis functions using artificial intelligence (AI). As the number of monthly presentation users exceeded 100 million, the introduction rate of visual suites in Korea also increased by 31% in a year.
On the 4th, Canva announced that it has added more than 100 functions to its “visual suite” this year, including documents, presentations, spreadsheets, whiteboards, and videos. In other words, it has introduced new functions every other day.
Canva focuses on making documents, analyzing data, and producing presentations, which were previously handled by different programs, in one workspace. It is like transferring ideas organized on the whiteboard to a document, taking the data analyzed from the spreadsheet, and immediately turning them into presentation materials.
AI is also using it to expand productivity functions. In the “Canbar Sheet,” AI analyzes the data and converts it into charts and tables that can be used for presentations or documents. It also added public filters, column hiding, and row grouping functions.
Canbar Dogs, a document writing tool, has added page design that can utilize the entire screen and automatic page division functions. The collaboration tool “Canbar Whiteboard” has a cooperative follow-up function that allows other members to move to the location where they are working. It is also possible to convert what you have written on the whiteboard into a document or presentation with a click.
The presentation function has also been enhanced. Through a timer showing the expected presentation time, the speed and time allocation can be checked, and presenter notes can be automatically generated with AI based on the completed presentation data.
The scale of use is also growing. The Canva presentation had more than 100 million monthly users. The size of Canbar Dogs usage has more than tripled in the last three years. Currently, about 1000 documents and 3000 presentations are made every minute in Canva. The total amount of design production exceeded 1 billion units per month.
The production of documents and presentations using mobile devices is also expanding. Six out of 10 visual suite users around the world use mobile devices. In the Asia-Pacific region, more than half of Canva presentation users start production on mobile devices. The introduction rate of visual suites in Korea increased by 31% year-on-year.
“The number of new features released this year has exceeded 100,” said Cameron Adams, co-founder and chief product officer of Canva. “As people move more of their daily work to Canva, the scope of their use is expanding to productivity platforms.”
