Choosing between Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) and NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) involves weighing two different approaches to the ongoing artificial intelligence boom. Both companies sit at the center of the modern technology infrastructure.
While NVIDIA is the clear leader in the processors that train advanced models, Broadcom focuses on the networking and software that connect these systems. This comparison looks at their business models and financial health to help you decide which stock fits your investment goals.
The case for Broadcom
Among semiconductor stocks, Broadcom is a giant, designing an array of custom semiconductor solutions combined with infrastructure software used in wired and wireless communications. Its business is heavily concentrated, with sales to distributors accounting for nearly 48% of its net revenue. The company also relies on key partnerships with Samsung Electronics (OTC:SSNLF) and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), where its top five customers represent approximately 40% of total revenue. Customer concentration like this adds a layer of risk to the business.
In its latest annual report, revenue reached $63.9 billion for the fiscal year ended Nov. 2, 2025. This represents a growth of 23.9% compared with the prior fiscal year. Net income for the period was $23.1 billion, which reflects a net margin of 36.2%.
As of its November 2025 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio is 0.8x, and the current ratio is 1.7x, which measures the ability to cover short-term debts. Free cash flow, defined as cash from operations minus capital expenditures, reached $26.9 billion. Note that stock-based compensation (SBC) represented 27.5% of operating cash flow, which inflates reported cash generation since SBC is a non-cash expense added back in the cash flow statement.
The case for NVIDIA
NVIDIA pioneered accelerated computing and currently dominates the data center market for artificial intelligence. The company experiences significant customer concentration, with two direct customers accounting for 22% and 14% of its total revenue, respectively. Customer concentration like this adds a layer of risk to the business. It also maintains strategic relationships with companies like CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) to strengthen its overall AI ecosystem.
According to its latest annual report, revenue for the fiscal year ended Jan. 25, 2026, reached $215.9 billion. This was an impressive 65.5% increase compared with the prior fiscal year. Net income reached approximately $120.1 billion, resulting in a net margin of 55.6%.
