The latest round of promotions came as BDO reported its financial results for the previous financial year.

In FY25, BDO reported revenue of $606.5 million, and the firm is forecasting similar revenue growth ahead of its FY26 results.

BDO chief executive partner, David Garvey, said the firm’s continued growth reflected client demand across all service lines and the strength of BDO’s investment in its people, culture and capability.

“BDO’s growth is driven by our unwavering investment in our people and culture, which strengthens our capability and continues to drive client demand,” said Garvey.

“We’re seeing steady growth across all areas of the firm in audit, tax and advisory.”

“Importantly, that growth is allowing us to keep investing in the next generation of leaders, specialists and advisers who will support our growing list of clients into the future.”

“For us, sustainable growth means continuing to invest in our people, technology and quality while preserving the judgement, accountability and client focus that sits at the heart of professional services.”

The July appointments follow a quartet of partner elevations earlier this year, highlighting the consultancy’s dedication to fostering internal talent and establishing transparent professional trajectories throughout the organisation.

Subsequent to a phase of substantial expansion, BDO slowed its lateral partner intake to 19 appointments this year, enabling the consultancy to prioritise the integration of recent elevations, the enhancement of corporate culture, and the continued cultivation of its internal professional pathways.

Speaking on the promotions, Garvey said that confidence in the company’s talent pipeline was evident.

“Today’s announcement recognises the high calibre of people coming through our firm and the contribution they are making to our clients, our teams and our future,” said Garvey.

“We are committed to supporting our people and providing tangible career development opportunities.”

“Promoting 17 people to partner this (calendar) year is a strong demonstration of that commitment.”

    The BDO partner promotions included:

    • Ben Watkinson, tax

    • Brett Monk, business services

    • Chelsea Si, tax

    • Daniel Footer, audit and assurance

    • Dominic She, business services

    • Ishan Chopra, deal advisory

    • Lulu Zeng, advisory

    • Melissa Mitchell, tax

    • Owen Lonergan, business services

    • Tenille Ireland, business services

    • Vivi Chen, business services

The consultancy is further maintaining a robust commitment to its early-career pipeline through significant ongoing investment.

The consultancy is reinforcing this commitment through its current recruitment drive, seeking to fill 180 graduate positions for its upcoming July 2026 and January 2027 intake periods.

Additionally, the firm has also introduced its High School Leavers Program, welcoming 10 students from the class of 2025 who are currently balancing paid employment at BDO with their studies in the CA ANZ fundamentals curriculum.

According to Garvey, the firm remains steadfast in its belief that cultivating emerging talent is essential for the longevity of BDO and the wider professional services industry.

“Professional services is a people business. Technology will continue to change the way we work, but we still need people to exercise judgement, and develop communication skills, client capability and technical expertise,” said Garvey.

“Our graduate and high school leaver programs are about giving talented people different entry points into the profession and supporting them to build meaningful, long-term careers.”

Director appointments were also announced on 1 July, further reinforcing the depth of talent across the firm and the strong future pipeline of professionals.

The BDO new director promotions included:

    • Abi Williams, audit and assurance

    • Amelia Watt, business services
