<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/flynn-applebees” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>Apple American Group LLC and Apple American Group II LLC, operators of the largest Applebee’s franchise in the United States, disclosed a data breach that exposed sensitive consumer information.
The company discovered suspicious activity on its network on Apr. 9, 2026. An investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor accessed certain or acquired certains files between Apr. 8 and Apr. 9, 2026.
The breach was first reported to the attorneys general offices of California and Vermont on Aug. 18, 2026. So far, 2,992 Vermont residents were identified as affected.
At this time, the dates during which the breach occurred, when it was first discovered and how long the exposure lasted have not been publicly disclosed.
Both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) were compromised as a result of the breach, including Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, financial account codes, credit and debit account information, health records and biometric information.
Apple American Group’s response to the breach
Apple American Group is offering 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to impacted individuals through CyberScout. To enroll, individuals should follow the steps listed on their notification letter.
Individuals who believe they may have been impacted should contact the company directly for more information on the incident. Additionally, individuals should remain vigilant, monitoring their accounts for any suspicious or unauthorized activity.
