Amazon beats out Walmart in competing sales days events
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days outperformed Walmart’s competiing sales event in October and nearly matched it’s own June Prime Day spending.
Average household spending during Prime Big Deal Days reached $114, just below the $122 spent at the same point during June Prime Day
Amazon household spending nearly doubled compared with an average Tuesday and Wednesday for the retailer — which is four times the lift Walmart recorded during the first two days of its sale, according to a press release on the sales event data.
A good majority of Prime Deal Day shoppers said inflation influenced the decision to shop the event.
More than a third of shoppers completed at least half of their holiday shopping during Prime Big Deal Days, according to the press release.
