Edtech startup Arivihan has raised $10.2 million in Series A funding as it looks to expand its AI-powered learning platform across more state boards and competitive examinations in India.
Existing investors Accel and Prosus Ventures invested $10 million in the round, while another $200,000 came from angel investors associated with startup accelerator GSF.
The latest investment takes Arivihan’s total funding to more than $15 million.
The startup said the new capital will be used to expand its geographical reach, introduce more offerings for CBSE students, strengthen its AI and vernacular-language capabilities, and scale its marketing and on-ground distribution.
Co-founder and CEO Ritesh Singh Chandel said Arivihan aims to cover almost all state boards by the end of the year, while also expanding its CBSE offering and deepening its presence in medical entrance examination preparation.
Focus on students beyond large cities
Arivihan, led by Ritesh Singh Chandel, Sonu Kumar Prashant and Rushabh Kothari, provides AI-based learning and exam preparation for school students.
The startup initially focused on Hindi-medium Class 12 students in Madhya Pradesh and has since expanded its offerings to students preparing for state board, CBSE and NEET examinations.
It currently has a presence in states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar, with much of its focus on students in smaller cities and rural areas.
The startup’s AI system is designed to personalise lessons and practice according to a student’s syllabus and performance. Its technology can answer questions, assess responses, identify weaker areas and recommend practice material.
Its current app also offers features including interactive lessons, doubt support, mock tests, personalised practice, and live and recorded classes for some courses.
Arivihan also uses a low-cost Rs 51 offering to attract students to the platform. Its current app advertises full syllabus access for several state boards at that price.
