The 10th AI/AR Smart Glasses Technology Industry Forum will be held on Nov. 26, with an agenda covering optical waveguides, Micro-LED displays, AI agents and multimodal interaction, and chip-sensor integration across the supply chain. On market size, AVC data show China’s online smart glasses retail sales reached CNY 560 million (approximately $83.8 million) in the first quarter of 2026, with retail volume of 282,000 units. IDC forecasts China’s shipments will rise from 2.46 million units in 2025 to 4.508 million in 2026. Soochow Securities argues that personal AI agents will drive hardware such as smart glasses to evolve into always-on sensing and execution platforms. Over the past year, 56 AI glasses concept stocks drew more than 100 institutional research visits each, with Huaqin Technology, Luxshare Precision and Crystal-Optech each topping 1,000 visits, while Lens Technology, Transsion Holdings and Avary Holding also drew heavy attention.
Key Elements
The 10th AI/AR Smart Glasses Technology Industry Forum is scheduled for Nov. 26, with an agenda spanning device design, core VR headset technology, optical waveguides, Micro-OLED and Micro-LED displays, AI agents and multimodal interaction, chip and sensor integration, acoustic systems, power management, high-density PCB/FPC and lightweight materials — effectively laying out the industry’s technology gaps from upstream components to finished-device manufacturing in one sitting.
The speed of market expansion is the main reason the forum is drawing attention. Research firm AVC (All View Cloud) reports that China’s online smart glasses retail sales reached CNY 560 million (approximately $83.8 million) in the first quarter of 2026, with retail volume of 282,000 units and an average selling price of CNY 1,999.4 (approximately $300). IDC forecasts China’s full-year smart glasses shipments at 2.46 million units in 2025, jumping to 4.508 million units in 2026 — year-on-year growth of more than 80%.
| Metric | Figure |
|---|---|
| China Q1 2026 online retail sales | CNY 560 million (approximately $83.8 million) |
| China Q1 2026 online retail volume | 282,000 units |
| Q1 2026 average selling price | CNY 1,999.4 (approximately $300) |
| China 2025 shipments (IDC forecast) | 2.46 million units |
| China 2026 shipments (IDC forecast) | 4.508 million units |
Note: Retail data are from AVC; shipment figures are IDC forecasts.
In a recent report, Soochow Securities traced this growth momentum to “personal agents.” The brokerage argues that personal agents can continuously carry out high-frequency daily tasks such as shopping, travel and information management, thereby raising users’ time spent and number of interactions. The more complex the task, the more the agent needs continuous access to personal context — location, voice, vision and schedules — and must call on various applications and services through the device. This logic implies that the role of hardware such as phones, PCs and smart glasses is shifting from passive interaction portals to always-on platforms for sensing, interaction and execution.
On the capital side, the key gauge is the intensity of institutional research. Screening AI glasses concept stocks by institutional research visits over the past year, 56 names drew more than 100 visits each, with China’s Huaqin Technology, Luxshare Precision and Crystal-Optech topping 1,000 visits to lead the pack. Lens Technology, Transsion Holdings, Kingnet Network, Zhejiang Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical, Avary Holding, TCL Technology, Shenzhen Yingtang Zhikong and Biwin Storage were also among those drawing heavy institutional attention and accumulation over the past year, each logging more than 500 visits.
Notably, the forum’s agenda overlaps heavily with the institutional research list: optical waveguides, Micro-LED displays, high-density PCB and lightweight materials are precisely the areas where these supply chain players are most deeply engaged, suggesting market attention to smart glasses has extended from end-brand themes to components and contract manufacturing.
Whether the shipment forecasts materialize, however, still depends on the pace of new product launches and actual demand. Comparing first-quarter online retail volume of 282,000 units with the full-year forecast of 4.508 million units implies the remaining three quarters must see a marked ramp-up, and whether the average selling price holds near CNY 2,000 will also affect the supply chain’s margin structure. For investors, the technical specifications and customer adoption progress unveiled at the forum will be the first window for verifying whether concept stocks’ revenue expectations actually land.
