Neb. (KOLN) – Nebraska startups are looking to connect with farmers interested in making their operations more efficient. A lineup of entrepreneurs can be found in the Ag Tech Pavilion, new to Husker Harvest Days this year, at booth 145
The Combine, an agriculture technology incubator based in Nebraska, partnered with Husker Harvest Days to establish the pavilion. Brennan Costello, director of The Combine, said the organization helps startups built in Nebraska bring their products to market.
The Ag Tech Pavilion features exhibitors ranging from early-stage startups seeking farmer input to fully commercialized companies already selling products. Costello said the technology covers cattle and crops, water technology, software technologies and robotic technology.
“A lot of these startups are focused on how do we help farmers better monitor what they’re doing,” Costello said. “So whether it’s nitrogen management or cattle biology.”
Costello said the technology on display gives farmers more insights so they can use fewer inputs and offers labor-saving opportunities, which he described as a major issue in agriculture.
Costello grew up working for Anderson Farms in Gothenburg, Nebraska. His father was a grain merchandiser at the local co-op.
“This isn’t Silicon Valley pushing something in,” Costello said. “This is technology that’s grown here that works for our farmers here.”
The Ag Tech Pavilion is open during the full hours of Husker Harvest Days. It is located on the north side of the show at booth 145 under a large tent.
Costello said people interested in ag technology or startups and farmers looking for a technology solution to a problem can visit the pavilion to be connected with entrepreneurs.
