Actor Son Seok-gu said that Choi Hee-seo, who produced a play together with 3 million won and even recommended auditions, was his benefactor.
On the SBS entertainment program “Will You Do Anything-Secretaries,” which aired on the 23rd, Son Seok-gu revealed his special relationship with his old friend Choi Hee-seo while traveling for the Busan International Film Festival schedule.
Son Seok-gu said, “We are old friends with Hee-seo. I still do everything Hee Seo tells me to do. If you listen to him, everything will be fine,” he said, expressing his faith in Choi Hee-seo.
He recalled a time when he watched Choi Hee-seo make her name known for the movie “DONGJU” and receive the Best Actress Award at home. At the time, Choi Hee-seo suggested to Son Seok-gu, “Don’t just stay at home like that, but let’s make a play together with 3 million won if you have 1 million won.”
The two actually spent 3 million won to produce the play. Son Seok-gu said, “The purpose of producing the play was to invite the officials I learned while filming the movie. He explained Choi Hee-seo’s plan, saying, “It’s very smart.”
An unexpected opportunity came in the wake of the play. Son Seok-gu said, “At that time, the casting director of ‘Sense 8’ came to the showcase and was cast at that time.”
However, Son Seok-gu confessed that he did not want to audition for “Sense 8” at first. He said, “Hee-seo scolded me,” and Choi Hee-seo said, “I think that’s going to work. I have a feeling,” he recalled.
Choi Hee-seo, who suggested making a play, persuaded Son Seok-gu even when the audition opportunity came. This was why Son Seok-gu said he still follows Choi Hee-seo’s words.

Son Seok-gu also recalled his relationship with Choi Hee-seo, who was selected for the Busan International Film Festival’s new actor training program. He said, “I came to Busan after 15 years because I filmed a movie with Hee-seo.”
Later, Son Seok-gu told the audience in a movie stage greeting that Choi Hee-seo was a benefactor who changed his life. He introduced a friend who suggested he start a play with 1 million won in the past as a lifesaver in front of the audience 15 years later.
