Driven by global orders and foreign funding, Indian space tech startups are expanding internationally, leveraging unique technologies, low costs, and hardware expertise to compete in the $630 billion global space economy.
Launch Rapid Reads→AI-POWERED
In October, just three months after becoming the first private Indian space tech startup to launch a rocket in space, Skyroot is fielding enquiries from abroad about its launch vehicle Vikram.
“Seventy to 80 percent of the demand we are seeing is global,” says Pawan Chandana, its co-founder and CEO.
Most enquiries have been from the US, Europe and Southeast Asia. In October, Skyroot teamed up with Brazil’s Concert Technologies to jointly develop a 100-kg low Earth orbit launch vehicle, while also securing a deal with US-based Reflect Orbital to deploy future spacecraft across two dedicated launches.
This global interest is matched by a surge in foreign capital. Not just in Skyroot.
