The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants has nearly 18,000 members.

Ashley L. Stampone, Ph.D. ’10, G’11, Ph.D. ’23, assistant professor of accounting at The University of Scranton, is a vice president on the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Board of Directors. Dr. Stampone, a triple-graduate of the University who joined the faculty in 2016, has earned numerous state and national honors in her career.

The state’s leading professional membership organization for accountants has and will continue to benefit in the coming years from a distinguished member of the faculty at The University of Scranton.

Ashley L. Stampone, Ph.D ’10, G’11, Ph.D ’23, assistant professor of accounting, is currently serving as a vice president on the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Board of Directors. She previously served a one-year term as a vice president and is now in her second year of a two-year, at-large term that will extend her service through April 2027.

Dr. Stampone was formally sworn in at PICPA’s annual meeting, held May 5 at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort and Spa in Bedford County.

“Dr. Stampone’s appointment to the PICPA Board of Directors reflects the respect she has earned throughout the accounting profession,” said Douglas M. Boyle, DBA ’88, accounting professor and chair at the University. “As a dedicated educator, accomplished scholar and engaged professional, she consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence and service. Her contributions to the profession, our students and the University have been significant, and I am confident she will make a meaningful impact in helping guide the future of the PICPA.”

The PICPA Board of Directors oversees the organization’s property and affairs. It includes officers and directors who advance the organization’s mission of serving, supporting and advocating for the profession while serving as a valuable resource to its nearly 18,000 members.

Dr. Stampone, who joined in the University in 2016, is a five-time recipient of the Kania School of Management’s Teacher of the Year award, presented by KSOM students. She has received numerous state and national awards and professional honors, including PICPA’s Young Leaders Award in 2021.
